Getting Hired has been teaming up with long term partner the American Dream Employment Network (ADEN) this year in sharing tips for our job seekers on how to navigate the Social Security Benefits landscape.
We kicked off our series with sharing tips on where job seekers receiving disability benefits can go and learn more about the Ticket to Work program and followed it with additional information on what job seekers need to know about Social Security Benefits.
To continue our series, we want to provide additional insights for our job seekers into how working affects your Social Security disability benefits.
Will I lose my social security benefits?
No, not right away! For both Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) beneficiaries, Social Security Administration (SSA) provides work incentives to help you in your attempt to return to work without fear of losing your healthcare or benefits immediately. For both programs, the work incentives differ, but in both cases, work incentives offer an opportunity for you to try working again while preserving your status as a beneficiary.
Free Training: What you need to know as a Social Security Disability Beneficiary interested in returning to work
For more information about your beneficiary information, on Wednesday, August 15th from 2:00pm-4:00pm EST, the ADEN will be hosting a free training on social security benefits.
Certified and experienced SSA Work Incentive advisors from the ADEN will explain the Social Security disability benefits and available work incentives in easy to understand language. If you answer “Yes” to either of these questions, we highly recommend you to attend:
Can’t make the free training on August 15th? You’re in luck as this training event is repeated throughout the year. You can find more information about additional trainings here.
We recognize disability benefits can be complicated, but once you know the available work incentives, ADEN is a great resource in helping you find a way to get back to work. ADEN is an approved SSA Ticket to Work provider, which is a free service to help job seekers who receive Social Security Disability or SSI benefits to help you navigate your journey back to work.
