We are looking for a talented BI Solution Engineer to join our Oncology IT team based in Gaithersburg, MD, the aim of which is the rapid development and continued support of reliably performing BI capabilities. We need a self-motivated individual who can work alongside multiple teams to oversee the design and development in a variety of projects.

This individual will work in an agile way with onshore and offshore project development teams, including the OBU Commercial Innovation team, BI analysts, and data analysts and engineers to support the Intelligence capabilities within OBU Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tangible and measurable value to OBU stakeholders by taking a technical lead role in the delivery of both large and small Business Intelligence projects for both headquarters and Field Selling teams
  • Engaging the Commercial Innovation team to understand business analysis requirements
  • Create best practices and suggest BI solution architecture patterns to support project initiatives
  • Provide guidance for BI data modeling and visualizations that build on our technology investments while optimizing the end user experience
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in delivery, leveraging technology and methodology best practices externally and internally to improve delivery performance and team capabilities


Essential requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree; BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Expert level skills in a range of BI technologies (we focus on Microstrategy and Qliksense) and applications and willingness to learn and use new technologies
  • Experience as MicroStrategy and/or Qliksense Developer, Architect & Administrator building projects and creating reports
  • At least 7 years of experience in MicroStrategy and other BI tools ideally in version 10.x or 2019
  • Expert in building user friendly visualizations leveraging Microstrategy, Qliksense or available add in tools
  • Should be capable of building technical capabilities and can give technical guidance to a development team
  • BI and data warehouse/data lake integration
  • Defining user groups and developing role based security
  • Worked on designing schema and creating Facts, Attributes, Hierarchies and Transformations.


Desirable requirements:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team to achieve objectives
  • Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and/or SAFe
  • A self-starter with high levels of drive, energy and resilience
  • Willing to be involved in all areas of deployment process including testing and release planning
  • Eager to learn and develop new tech skills as required
  • Experience with Oncology or Pharmaceutical industry data sets
  • Experience with Data Privacy and working in a regulated environment
  • Leveraging blended onshore and offshore delivery models (US, India, Mexico)
