The Associate Director of BI&A Commercial Performance Management will be responsible for monitoring and providing data, insights, and reports for the home office commercial business stakeholders across the Bristol-Myers Squibb enterprise. This role will:
  • Support the U.S./WW commercial business units by delivering reports, data, metrics, trends, and insights in support of commercial brand strategic decision making
  • Provide adhoc data, data information, and investigate business questions to answer internal commercial business unit questions regarding brand performance, marketplace activity, competitor product activity, or other pharmaceutical market changes in support of decision making for the U.S. commercial organization. Data may include country, wholesaler, product, physician, payer, plan, outlet, or patient level information, analysis, or external analyst reports
  • Internal stakeholders: Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A), Analytics, Forecasting, Finance, Market Research, Investor Relations, Marketing and Sales, and/or company leadership
  • Manage vendor offshore team to direct, set strategy, direct operational guiding principles, resolve issues, monitor workflow, collect stakeholder feedback and enhancement requests, and prioritize delivery schedule across the global enterprise. Ensure all business unit organizational dashboards and reports are delivered in a fast and timely manner, are of high quality
  • Learn associated pharmaceutical marketplace data, query tools, and data vendors products and services for the role
  • Be a key point of contact within the commercial organization to help assist people in understanding the pharmaceutical sales data, explain the terminology, and train people on supporting data systems
  • Be a key point of contact with our pharmaceutical data vendors to understand changes in the data you use, upcoming restatements, do assessment on change impacts, and communicate with internal commercial brands and internal matrix teams regarding assessed data restatement impacts to their business monitoring
  • Be a thought leader in the department and participant in BMS secondary data strategy refinement, evaluate new options


Position Requirements :
  • 10+ years of business experience with 5-8 years experience in pharmaceutical data, analytics, market research, and reporting functional expertise is beneficial to have for success in the role
  • Prior or current experience in using pharmaceutical secondary data is required. Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry data providers IQVIA and Symphony datasets, terminology, data tools, and product offerings is required
  • Demonstrated ability to handle working on simultaneous information and analysis requests is required
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, extreme accuracy, and focus on many details mindset is required
  • Skills in continuous improvement expertise, matrix team environment, project management, vendor management, and performance measurement skills would be beneficial to succeed in the role
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from management
  • Must also be highly motivated, results focused and act with a high sense of urgency. Must be able to create contingency plans and refine action steps to address shifting priorities or changing objectives
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in quantitative discipline such as Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Life Sciences
