Manage customer facing contracts and contribute to guiding the Contracts team to support all aspects of contract lifecycle management in support of commercial programs. Oversees completion of contracts, trains employees, and oversees analysis of critical data. Develops processes and assists in policy design in support of the Contracts department strategy. Influences senior management and others in the organization on complex contractual issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Helping leadership train employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract compliance requirements related to the business.
  • Performing duties and training related to the total lifecycle of customer facing contracts for commercial programs including proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities for contracts to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Providing guidance, interpretation, advice and counsel to the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), program management and senior management. Interface with LS Program Management and IPT Representatives as well as customer acquisition personnel regarding all contractual aspects of the Program.
  • Engaging in direct discussions and negotiations with customer.
  • Maintaining historical contract negotiation and approval records
  • Promote an ethics-based business culture within LS, reviewing contract terms for compliance with laws and company policies, and developing working relationships with internal business teams.
  • Interpret, prepare, administer and act as conduit to legal team regarding a wide range of other agreements including complex non-disclosure agreements, leases, bailments, teaming agreements, service contracts, licenses, international representative agreements and others.
  • May lead cross functional team and apply ACE and lean tools to improve new and ongoing programs or initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree w/6-10+ years experience
  • MA/MS/JD degree w/4-7+ years experience
  • Must have previous contracts experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal / external customer representatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MA/MS/JD degree w/4-7+ years experience
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation/drafting
  • Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating government contracts
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated customer focus/business partnership
