Job Summary

Manages experienced Data Analyst team engaged in developing and maintaining complex Data & Analytics technology solutions for the enterprise. Responsibilities include interfacing with IT, Portfolio and Program Management, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data Governance, Enterprise Analytics to understand requirements, manage and support technical solutions built by vendors and BSC resources.

Data Analyst manager is expected to have complete understanding of the importance of end-to-end data management and data integration methodologies, strategies and the importance of data analysis plays in building/delivering robust solution. Responsible for overall implementation of Data Engineering Analyst team goals and objectives. In this role, you will manage, build, and lead data analyst team and help the members of your team grow both technically and professionally. Provide oversight of day-to-day group activities. Has full management responsibility for staff (i.e., salary actions, promotions, performance reviews, and disciplinary matters). Has joint responsibility for the largest/most complex projects and programs.

  • The role is hands on manager role and has very high visibility to management and regularly interacts with other managers and directors across business units.
  • Provide technical leadership in development activities on concurrent complex data projects with multi-source, geographically spread implementation teams.
  • Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical solution leads in the team as a hands-on manager.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring to data analyst in analysis, documentation, working with design and development teams in implementing large-scale, complex enterprise applications.
  • Work collaboratively to drive adoption and enforcement of data analysis design principles, smart practices, guidelines, and policies.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required. Ability to build strong relationships and drive alignment on difficult topics.
  • Partners with IT PMO, demand and capacity, architects, technical leads, cross functional business and IT teams for strategic and operational projects aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner with Vendors, Technical teams and Vendor Management to review, define and support statement of work activities aligning with scope and delivery dates.
  • Consults and makes recommendations to management on significant issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain cohesive relationships, partnerships and negotiate with various teams and diverse groups of internal and external teams, vendors and business partners.
  • Strong Communication, presentation, and engagement skills, quick learner, and be able to work with a wide range of Data & Analytics technologies.


Knowledge and Experience
  • 5+ years of prior managerial level experience.
  • Expertise with leading, managing and hiring team of talented data analysts.
  • Hands on experience in large scale, high-volume data warehouse environment with focus on data management, data analysis, integration bulk/batch/real-time load strategies.
  • Strong experience in data management, big data management, master data management, data warehouse, data virtualization, data quality, data reconciliation, data governance and analytics design patterns.
  • Hand-on experience in DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Netezza, MySQL, SQL, ETL and Data Quality tools (Informatica), Denodo, Test Data Management, Hadoop etc.
  • Working knowledge of standard software development tools, including incident tracking, version control, release management, subversion change management, testing tools and systems.
  • Understanding of data modeling, data mining, data integration, data architecture, data warehousing and data quality techniques.
  • Good understanding of business intelligence and analytical tools (like Business Objects, Tableau, SAS), analytical and data science concepts and programming languages like Java, Python, R preferred.
  • Self-directed works with limited management direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.
  • Experience with iterative development life cycle methodologies and application of those principles, especially agile development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience working with vendor partners, cross-functional and development teams in terms of end to end technical delivery.
  • Strong analytic, process flow, problem-solving, communication, customer service, organization skills, required.
  • Prior Healthcare experience is a plus.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
