The Center for Design & Analysis has recently established a Knowledge Management team, passionate about developing creative solutions to help teams access knowledge that can inform key decisions throughout the drug development life cycle. Working with partners from across the organization, we look for opportunities to use data and technology alongside an understanding of business processes and human/interpersonal factors. Our solutions connect people to the stories, experiences, and other people, equipping them to ask better questions, of the right people.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Employees often rely on personal networks or word of mouth to find colleagues or work product that will help them answer a question or guide what steps they can take next. It can be challenging to orient yourself within a complex organization to learn from past experiences and innovate intelligently. This internship will focus on two projects. The first project involves conducting user centered research and improving mechanisms to help employees understand their place in these complex processes, the best paths forward and where there is opportunity for new thinking. The second is iterating on the design and processes behind our online Knowledge Centers to ensure employees have access to the information they need to understand the field. You'll play a critical role in creating useful, delightful products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct research analysis of how different industries approach the KM landscape.
  • Visualize, iterate on and create product designs for communicating complex processes.
  • Advocate for the end-user of our products.
  • Document and communicate design deliverables using appropriate media
  • Assist in identifying gaps in internal content maps and developing project plans to address
  • Identify and develop taxonomies to support the enablement of knowledge graphs for content identification
  • Engage with internal partners to understand opportunities to use and/or align existing efforts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and develop a proof-of-concept prototype to illustrate possible approaches
  • Develop recommendation for implementation and ongoing change management strategy
