The Attraction Operations Assistant Supervisor is the flex force department leader on duty. The primary responsibility of the Attraction Operations Assistant Supervisor is to ensure that all customer service standards are met (Safety, Professionalism, Presentation, and Efficiency) and the department is appropriately prepared for the expected business volume. The Attractions Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Create Your Own Candy Bar, 4D Mystery, Hershey's Unwrapped, Costume Characters, Tour Ride, and Central Ticketing.

This position will be scheduled into a rotation with other leaders on duty on day shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays to deliver sales goals, a smooth operation, and support HCW marketing initiatives, and attendance goals. This position requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects the individual to be approachable, courteous, knowledgeable about our products, able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions, and able to provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism.

This is a part-time position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position. This position has a limited number of weekday daytime shifts during non-peak seasons. This position requires evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts. Must be able to work a revolving schedule including daytime, weekends, evenings, holidays, and various shifts from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. This position has a starting pay rate of $13.00 per hour.

Summary of major duties:
  • Demonstrate and model The Hershey Company values, the Hershey's Chocolate World Leadership Pledge, and the Hershey's Chocolate World Service Pledge.
  • Uphold Hershey's Chocolate World's customer service expectations and prepare the department appropriately for the expected business level.
  • Facilitate employee training including appropriate coaching and counseling where needed and customer service training to ensure employees can provide the best possible customer service.
  • Facilitate employee rewards and recognition programs by demonstrating best practices.
  • Effectively communicate to all employees ensuring they are knowledgeable about promotions, marketing initiatives, and complex special events that impact the team.
  • Welcome and check-in employees at the start of the shift to ensure they are in proper uniform and that breaks are taken in accordance with Hershey's Chocolate World policy. Adjust, print, and turn in daily sheets to Human Resources at the end of the day.
  • Assist with all Attractions and the Central Ticketing daily operations and record attendance issues of flex force employees in the Attendance Tracker.
  • Complete First Responder training (CPR/AED and First Aid) and be a member of the emergency response team. Respond to first responder calls of employee medical issues and report to Health Services.
  • In evacuation situations, the Attractions Assistant Supervisor should be prepared to take attendance at the meeting place of all assigned employees to ensure a safe evacuation.
  • Review daily attraction show times to ensure proper coverage for all shows in each attraction.
  • Responsible for crowd control and guest flow through queuing and other necessary means for all Attractions and Central Ticketing.
  • Responsible for completing walk-throughs of all Attractions and Central Ticketing to check for safety issues/concerns, crowd fluctuation versus staffing, and overall cleanliness of the department.


Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be willing to use a cash register
  • Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards
  • Must have the ability to react quickly to changing operational situations
  • Must function effectively as part of a team
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate, and efficient
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow co-workers
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 200-300 pounds (with assistance)
  • Must be able to walk or stand for 6-9 hours
  • This role will require bending, stooping, and twisting
  • Overhead lifting may be required
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required

Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer service-oriented environment is required
  • Supervisory or leadership experience is required
