Clinical Social Worker 3 - LCSW


The Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA is seeking a skilled therapist to join the Clinical Social Work Department. This job is in the Achievement, Behavior, Cognition (ABC) Child Partial Hospitalization Program.

The ABC Child PHP is a time-limited, integrated program dedicated to assisting children ages 6-12 and their families to promote positive emotional and behavioral health. We specialize in the assessment and treatment of a variety of psychological and developmental conditions and behaviors, including: Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Difficulties with impulse control and emotional regulation

The therapist plans and facilitates groups for both the patients and the parents, using various evidence-based treatment modalities.

The therapist carries a caseload of individual patients. The therapist meets with patients and families and performs psychosocial assessments, creates SMART treatment goals, assesses progress toward goals, engages the patient in safety planning, and provides case management services, disposition planning, and family therapy.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8-5; The therapist provides periodic (approximately 5x/year) weekend and holiday coverage on the inpatient psychiatry units.


We're seeking an exceptionally empathetic Clinical Social Worker with CA LCSW or Psychologist with:

Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program or PhD in Psychology
Licensure - LCSW
Experience working with children
Knowledge of DSM 5 diagnoses

Strongly preferred:
Experience providing evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatment modalities
Experience planning and facilitating psychotherapy groups
Ability to assess suicidality and knowledge of safety planning
Excellent writing skills
Ability to work both autonomously and in an interdisciplinary team
