Sr. LVN Supervisor - Hematology/Oncology (Santa Monica)


n this position, you will participate in the total patient care in the Santa Monica
Hematology/Oncology clinic, working with faculty physicians, fellows,
residents, medical students, nursing staff, patient services staff and
ancillary personnel. You will serve as the supervisor
of the medical assistant and LVN team coordinating the activities of all staff
supporting the clinic area thereby ensuring high standards of care and patient

  • CA LVN License
  • Current and valid CPR certification with ability to administer CPR
  • Possess IV therapy certification
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as an LVN in an ambulatory setting
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
  • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems
  • Ability to accept direction from administration and act promptly
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators
  • Ability to effectively elicit salient clinical information and making appropriate assignments based on established guidelines
  • Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion
  • Skill in preforming with frequent interruptions an/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and responds to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference and hostility
  • Ability to push, pull or carry up to 30 lbs.

  • Working knowledge of the physician practice operations
  • Working knowledge of EMR System (EPIC) Care Connect
