Job Description
Provides technical support to manufacturing and related functions. Researches, develops, and improves manufacturing processes, methods, and systems for products, facilities, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and/or materials. Develops and tests manufacturing processes and instructions, ensuring performance and quality of materials, products, and machines meet specifications and standards. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.
Improves the quality of the output of a process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. Utilizes Statistical Process Control DMAIC tools to solve production problems, reduce variability, and improve manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience utilizing Lean Enterprise concepts to meet or exceed business and customer requirements.
Other areas of responsibility include establishing and improving manufacturing capabilities and technical expertise, working with manufacturing teams to execute technology and process strategies, and collaborating with engineering teams to drive quality into designs.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Minimum required education: Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Technical discipline).
  • Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop employees
  • Experience in root cause/corrective action - preventive action
  • Excellent communication, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to drive positive change in an organization's culture
  • Effective decision making track record
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage people effectively
  • Ability to effectively facilitate projects in a technical multi-organizational environment
  • Extensive experience in applying lean principles throughout the value stream
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team building skill
  • Well-rounded business knowledge with focus on the customer
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Solid problem solving and analytical abilities
  • High level of personal and professional integrity


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team based environment
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Experience with DMAIC tools including Fishbones, PFMEAs, Cpk
  • Six Sigma training
  • Experience with programming or implementation of Robotics technology into manufacturing processes
