PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Transformation & Centralized Service organization at our Edison NJ location. The team performs analysis, design, development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G line of business clients. This position will have a focus on several areas of transformation contained in the “training center of the future” initiative which include the expanded use of 3 rd party training partners, eLearning course development & assessment, and training record data management.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, performance appraisals, coaching and counselling / discipline for strong performance across a team of training professionals. The key elements of this role are:
• Preparation and management of individual and team strategy and goals
• Lead and develop team members to grow in their roles
• Guide the analysis, design, and evaluations across multiple concurrent instructional designs involving eLearning
• Manage within budget for assigned responsibilities using key financial and performance indicators
• Manage and approve the purchase of learning resources including programs, vendor services, equipment and facilities.

The candidate must enjoy providing client service, be a team player, have supervisory experience and excel in communicating both verbally and in writing. High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are also important to communicate company goals, safety practices, and expectations to the team. The Technical Training Manager motivates, develops and regularly assesses team member performance. Provides help to management, including hiring and training, and keeps management updated on team performance. This position conducts periodic presentations.

The position requires close collaboration with the Manager Technical Training and internal subject matter experts in support of identifying training needs and building relationships with Electric, Gas and Customer Service clients. The position works with process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish process efficiency. Therefore, the position requires strong internal and external relationship building skills and behaviors.

Candidate must be available in case of a storm emergency by periodically being on call for assignment by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Job Specific Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 8 year’s management experience in the areas of actionable, planning leadership, team building communication, change management along with project and budgetary management
• Demonstrated abilities in the areas of focused, actionable planning
• Proven experience with Instructional Design techniques, architecture and curriculum
• Skilled in computer applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office software
• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ten years of utility operations and/or equivalent training experience
• Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations effecting training and assessment

• Possess and maintain a U.S. valid driver’s license

Desirable:
• Master’s Degree in Education or Industrial System / Instructional Design
• Experience in Learning Management System use and data management / reporting
• Experience in alternative training delivery methods, including automated, computer-based or virtual / augmented reality applications
• Process Improvement skills / LSS Green Belt
