Summary

Facebook is seeking a Housing Initiatives Lead, within its FCS organization, which include Global Real Estate & Facilities, Culinary, and Security. This role will lead the overall approach to Facebook's commitment to housing in partnership with Policy, Finance, Real Estate, and Legal. The ideal candidate will lead a small team of high performing housing program managers pursuing solutions in the housing space. The candidate will be responsible for directing strategy, overseeing execution and leading team planning. This is both an internal and external facing role that will require strong collaboration across teams and external partners.

Required Skills

  • Lead overall strategy, set direction and manage the cross-functional housing team in executing housing investments and policy initiatives
  • Build and nurture a close partnership with internal and external partners to evaluate housing, transportation, and land use strategies
  • Provide strategic vision and direction to cross-functional teams supporting this work, ensuring that all perspectives are evaluated and considered
  • Develop external advisory network to serve as counsel to the Housing Initiative
  • Direct and manage outside consultants and partners to implement housing programs
  • Prepare briefings on housing and transportation policy, investments, and programs for internal and external audiences comprised of peer employers, policy makers, community advocates, and philanthropic partners
  • Participate in events aimed at promoting the work of the Facebook Housing Initiative
  • Lead and participate in efforts aimed at team building


Minimum Qualification

  • 15+ years of experience in urban planning, transportation, urban economics, finance or related fields (either in-house or with consulting firms)
  • 10+ years experience of leadership in the housing space, with board and/or committee roles at both local and regional scales
  • Experience working with policy makers on land use and housing policy
  • Experience developing housing strategy with the development community, both for profit and non-profit
  • Experience managing & driving cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Experience building relationships cross-functionally and driving a team towards consensus and execution
  • Experience building successful external alliances and partnerships in a political, nonprofit or corporate policy advocacy setting
  • Experience taking a pragmatic and creative approach to finding solutions to issues, provide concise focused advice, and make sound judgments under deadlines
  • Clear communicator with a grasp of political and organizational dynamics
  • Experience presenting to management both within an organization and outside
  • Experience distilling complex information and create narratives appropriate for various audiences
  • Experience understanding implications of land use policy
  • Understanding of the legislative policymaking process
  • Experience with leading community group engagement process


Preferred Qualification

  • Master's degree
  • Public sector experience
