National Director, Clinical Educators, US Alzheimer's

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate to support the strategic planning and execution of the US Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) Clinical Educator Program to optimize the overall customer experience. National Director, Clinical Educators provides leadership and strategic Clinical Educator direction to the US AD Marketing and Field Operations organization. The Clinical Educators function represents an investment of >$10M and manages a contracted team of over 40 individuals. This individual plays a critical leadership role accountable for the compliant strategy, performance, and execution of AD Clinical Educator services.

The National Director is accountable for delivering national Clinical Educator services to internal and external customers and is responsible for the oversight of the contracted Clinical Educator team (Field Clinical Educators).

Essential functions of the job include:
  • Oversee a vendor-managed team of 40+ Clinical Educators
  • Establish vision, national strategy and priorities for Clinical Educator team
  • Establish a culture of performance, collaboration and compliance with the vendor
  • As needed, lead, coach and develop Clinical Educator Program Manager
  • Collaborate closely with Field Leadership for other Alzheimer’s Disease field roles to ensure seamless coordination and support across the Alzheimer’s Disease field ecosystem
  • Ensure appropriate sizing and alignment of the team
  • Overall budget owner and decision maker managing an operating budget of $10M per year
  • Challenge thinking regarding the portfolio and Clinical Educator services
  • Shape, evolve, and direct the execution of Clinical Educator services
  • Set and achieve program metrics and KPIs as committed to cross-functional partners and brands
  • Analyze future Clinical Educator program and design including evaluating internal vs contract Clinical Educators
  • Lead RFP, MSA and SOW process
  • Ensure a high-level engagement with vendor
  • Proactively partner with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance colleagues to monitor program activities, conduct regular training of customer-facing clinical educator teams, monitor external environment and evolve program scope in a compliant way in order to minimize risk. Ensure compliance with Biogen policies.


Qualifications

- 10+ years commercial experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry

- Previous experience leading people

- HCP marketing or sales preferred

- Proven record in program management and strategic planning

- Experience in Neurology and infusion products is preferred

- Experience in launching new products, services, or expansions preferred

- Exhibits outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within BIIB and our customer base

- Demonstrated relationship building and cross functional teamwork skills

- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team both directly and cross-functionally

- Strategic thinker with capability to create vision and drive alignment with and without authority

- Excellent communication/coordination/interpersonal skills

- 50-60% travel to Weston, vendor call center, field rides and meetings

Education:

BS/BA required
