This role is a part of Worldwide Medical, a strategic partner within Biogen, that helps inform medical practice across our therapeutic areas and pipeline to improve measurable and meaningful patient outcomes.

By generating high-quality data insights about diseases and treatments and translating those findings, we help KMEs, HCPs, payors, and regulators make informed decisions for people with these serious conditions. We ensure that the voice of the patients is heard, considering their feedback and experience with our therapies.

As a key member of the Global Medical Multiple Sclerosis Team, the Associate Director/Director is responsible for co-developing and executing the Biogen Global Medical Strategy, cross-functionally aligned with other functions, for an MS brand. This role is helping to drive generation, interpretation and communication of relevant data to advance/drive/inform the clinical practice to support market access at the global level.

What You’ll Do
  • As a content expert, review abstracts, publications, medical information letters, internal/external educational materials, and other medical documents as needed
  • Review and critically appraise research proposals.
  • Provide medical expertise to and lead cross-functional teams and projects, as needed
  • Represent Global Medical at cross-functional meetings as needed
  • Build advocacy, help organize and participate in high quality Key Medical Expert (KME) / Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagements to ensure access to high quality external expertise and insights
  • Review and support authoring of regulatory interaction documentation, as needed
  • Provide guidance/training to affiliates / cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

Required Skills
  • MD, PhD, PharmD or other advanced degree in life sciences
  • Minimum 5 years experience within a medical affairs role in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external customers. Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative
  • Ability to be independent, multi-tasked, results-oriented within a dynamic, fast-paced, highly diverse international matrix environment

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Multiple Sclerosis therapeutic area is strongly desired
  • Experience in developing/reviewing research proposals and scientific publications
  • Experience in Real-World-Evidence data generation and interpretation
