Job Summary

The Business Planning Analyst’s primary responsibility is to provide support for the Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) Sales business planning department by working collaboratively within and outside the department to analyze and track all expenses against budget/forecast on a monthly basis. The position provides all day-to-day Business Planning and controlling functions to support this area, in efforts to achieve company financial and performance objectives. He/She will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and development of operating and capital budgets, forecasts, short and long-term business plans, variance and trend analysis, and revenue share calculations. He/She will also be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the consolidations and distribution of daily, weekly and monthly financial reports, invoices, exceptions and analysis. Additionally, He/She will assist in cost analysis and special projects as required.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating plans and budgets.
    • Assist in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
    • In conjunction with management staff, assist in the preparation of short and long-term strategic business plans.
    • Assist in the consolidation and reporting of the budgets and forecast.
    • Assist with revenue share calculations.
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting.
    • Analyzing and reconciling weekly invoices and exceptions for both internal and external vendors
    • Consolidation and reporting for all operating and capital expenditures.
    • Assist in the monthly review and analysis of operating and capital expenditures.
    • Assist in the preparation of variance analysis of the Administrative Departments and consolidate variance analysis for all of MDU Sales.
    • Financial and statistical analysis, reporting and tracking for all functional organizations within MDU Sales, supported by commentary and analysis.
    • Support the development and maintenance of operating performance metrics for all MDU Sales functions.
  • Other
    • Support the Administrative management departments in processing requisitions; purchase orders; vendor payments; personnel action forms and personnel requisitions.
    • Support the Administrative management by providing project and cost analysis for decision-making purposes.
    • Support the Administrative departments by working with Accounting to ensure accuracy in coding payments, and properly accruing for activities of the department.
    • Assist with quarterly Tech Truck Inventories and Contractor Warehouse Inspections
    • Assist and process 3rd party vendor on boarding requirements
    • Special projects as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience in preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts
  • Able to manipulate data and read contracts for rate/volume
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Experience with MS Access database is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office 365
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Detail oriented, ability to analyze problems, probe facts and question assumptions
  • High degree of integrity
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems using fact based decision-making
