Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Director - Premium Seating and Guest Services Operations assists the Director of Guest Services in operations and event service for all luxury suites and other premium ticketed areas at all athletic venues where such areas exist. This position is responsible for communicating effectively with the general fanbase, athletic department donors and season ticketholders, part-time Guest Services staff, as well as other event staff i.e. ushers and security personnel, food/beverage provider, and athletic department staff members. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in oversight and training of game day staff as it relates to donor relations and retention as well as safety and security before, during, and after events. This position is designated as weather/event essential.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Relevant job experience in customer service
  • Demonstrated professionalism in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships and high expectations and a standard of excellence with regard to customer service
  • Experience leading and overseeing staff, including full-time and hourly employees
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and concurrent tasks
  • Experience and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in Division I college intercollegiate athletics administration
  • Experience with suite and premium level seating and service to those areas

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of two-way radio maintenance and operations
  • Knowledge of basic budget and accounting principles
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to interact appropriately with disgruntled fans and/or fans not behaving properly
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before both internal and external groups
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with University of Arkansas's fan base, Guest Services, other event staff members, and other department personnel
