This position is in Technical Skills Training – Utility Operations Services and has the direct responsibility for managing the process and resources required to analyze, design, develop, deliver and evaluate technical training for PSE&G LOB clients. This requires regular communication to all levels of LOB Management. They ensure the delivery of initial new hire, continuous and emergent business needs training to the LOB’s in a timely and economical manner. Major duties include providing leadership, direction, performance appraisals, coaching and counseling in the management and professional development of the Instructional Training staff. The position requires the management of Training Professionals. Preparation, approval and management of the departmental strategy, goals, training schedules and budget within assigned areas of responsibility. Utilize key financial and performance indicators to measure performance of Instructional staff. Manage and approve the purchase of learning resources, including programs, vendor services, equipment and facilities. This position will have a focus on Electric Operations particularly in the area of Overhead, Underground and Operations training programs.

Job Specific Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree in Business, Education, Instructional Design or in lieu of a degree 14 years of equivalent managerial experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within an operational LOB area and/or training.
• Demonstrated abilities in the areas of focused actionable planning, leadership, team building, communication, change management, project or budgetary management.
• Proven experience with Instructional Design Techniques, architecture and curriculum.
• Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows Applications.
• Working knowledge of state and federal regulations effecting training and evaluation.
• Possess and maintain a valid U. S. driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Desired:
• Experience in Electric Operations involving in the construction, maintenance, operation and/or repair of overhead / underground electric facilities
• Master’s Degree in Education or Instructional System / Instructional Design
• Experience in Learning Management System use and data management / reporting
• Experience in alternative training delivery methods, including automated, computer-based or virtual / augmented reality applications
• Process Improvement skills / LSS Green Belt
