Associate, Cyber Brand Defense

Capital One’s Cyber Brand Defense team is seeking an experienced and motivated analyst proficient in basic cybersecurity analysis. This role requires a skilled analyst with the ability to analyze and triage alerts on phishing, source code leaks, and social media cyber threats. The analyst should be a proactive self-starter interested in working on a dynamic and fast-paced team dedicated to protecting Capital One’s customers and brand.

  • Analyze and triage alerts across multiple detection systems
  • Apply critical thinking and in-depth technical analysis to effectively investigate incoming alerts
  • Collaborate across team and Cyber to solve complex problems
  • Articulate case facts to small and large audiences
  • Adhere to specific, extensive processes for responding to potential incidents
  • Showcase case highlights using thorough yet succinct written communications
  • Lead and own projects involving multiple team members and stakeholders to identify, contextualize and assess potential cyber brand threats to Capital One
  • Help Cyber and the business understand cyber brand risk and mitigate threats as they relate to Capital One
  • Build productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and sources throughout the business

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in process or project management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Security+, CySA+, or AWS CCP
  • 2+ years of experience in process or project management
  • 2+ years of experience in organizational development
  • 2+ years of experience using G Suite
  • 1+ years of experience with email headers and security protocols (SPF, DKIM, or DMARC)
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing different forms of phishing attacks (vishing, smishing, or BEC)
