Portfolio Governance and Analytics Lead

What You’ll Do

Portfolio Governance and Business Operations Meetings:
  • Lead stage gate governance forums empowered to make go/no-go decisions on PO&T projects
  • Lead Business Operations Review meetings to drive operational improvements and provide LT visibility

Portfolio & Operational Analytics:
  • Create center of excellence for key portfolio level analytics with insightful data outputs to inform PO&T decisions
  • Implement business processes that enable pipeline and operational risk management
  • Carry out competitive analysis, benchmarking, and primary and secondary research to understand industry best practices and identify actions to boost PO&T productivity
  • Bring a consolidated view of Operational Metrics and Operational Improvement Progress to the Leadership Team to enable business insights and learning.


Portfolio & Operations Reporting:
  • Collaborate with senior PO&T leadership to develop an incisive portfolio tracking and reporting system to drive strategic decision making
  • Together with Resource and Performance Management group, establish centralized reporting system of key program, portfolio information, and operational dashboards
  • Lead consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual portfolio reporting and coordinate with communications function to ensure PO&T and broader Biogen community is aware of portfolio and operational performance status


Qualifications

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will be a strong influencer and facilitator, and able to build strong working relationships across a variety of levels, functions, and geographies.

Required Skills
  • Minimum requirements: 12 years experience and Bachelor’s Degree (preferred scientific); or 10 years experience and MBA (preferred), ideally in biotech/pharma industry, with management consulting a plus
  • Experience with creating board of directors or executive leadership materials and communication
  • Outstanding ability to frame issues, problem solve (both creatively and analytically), manage projects, communicate (both orally and in writing) with senior leadership
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal team skills
  • Good business judgment
  • Able to interact confidently with senior leadership
  • Deep analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work with senior members of the organization and appropriately challenge their assumptions
