This is a Senior Level Hull Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) Fleet Support Engineering Technician Position.

General Job Template Description

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 6 years of experience. 2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Associate's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an electrician, outside machinist or pipe fitter.
  • Prior Navy Submarine Experience. System Operations (Engine Room experience) or as an Electrical Division Leading Petty Officer or Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Engineering Watch Supervisor, Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Engine Room Supervisor, Nuclear Repair Coordinator, Reactor Operator, Engineering Watch Officer, as a Nuclear Machinist Mate, Electricians Mate, Electronics Technician, or Leading Petty Officer Torpedo/Auxiliaries/Machinery...etc.
  • Abilityto support sea trailson submarines.
