Show us what you can do as a Maintenance and Relief Operator! Our plant inNorristown, PA is looking for an Operator to maintain all the equipment at the facility and cover plant operations, as needed. In this role, you will get to help run our water system, collect samples, maintain compliance data, and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment. Primary Role

As a Maintenance and Relief Operator, you will performand/or assistwith repairs to and maintenance of equipment and facilities such as, but not limited to: centrifugal and positive displacement machinery, transducers, recorders, data collection devices, diesel engines, generators, chemical feed equipment, analytical measuring devices, electrical distribution equipment, piping systems, process control equipment, telemetry equipment, etc.

You will perform preventative maintenance on equipment and respond to assigned work orders. You will work on chemical feeds, valves, process piping, pumps and motors at the plant. You will also make treatment changes and collect samples from the distribution system.

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs calibration and routine maintenance of control systems including troubleshooting and diagnostics of related software and hardware.
  • Maintains the appearance of facilities and grounds in accord with company standards.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates tasks and/or activities required for the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of treatment and pumping facilities and related appurtenances.
  • Receives and distributes chemicals in accord with established company, state, and/or federal safety standards and/or practices.
  • May be assigned to perform any responsibility that lies within the capabilities of the employee based on experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training.


Knowledge/Skills

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, computer theories, applications, and hardware configurations.
  • Thorough understanding of the distribution system network including, but not limited to, gradients, capacities, interconnections, mapping, service territory and facility locations to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities and related appurtenances.
  • Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety practices, as well as state and federal regulations applicable to area of responsibility including, but not limited to OSHA


Experience/Education

  • Must have at least four (4)years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or demonstrated experience equivalent to a maintenance mechanic II.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Required to pass an initial and annual OSHA medical examination
