TCGB Lab Supervisor (Wet Bench)

Responsibilities
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Lab Supervisor (Wet Bench) to join their Technology Center for Genomics & Bioinformatics (TCGB). In this role, you will primarily lead, optimize, and develop services in various library constructions, Next-generation sequencing (NGS), and data analysis. Other major duties include:

*Oversee technical and research development within the Wet Lab
*Directly supervise a team of researchers and lab personnel
*Collaborate with the Core Director to develop and conduct new protocols and applications in the Wet Lab (library construction, NGS, data analysis)
*Assist with the implementation of new assay/sequencing platforms and other laboratory development projects
*Lead new research initiatives and projects within the Core

Qualifications
*Strong background in the field of NGS technologies with a wide range of molecular biology skills, including DNA and RNA extraction, reverse transcription, in vitro transcription, PCR, and QRT-PCR
*Experience working in NGS platforms consisting of both wet-lab and dry-lab
*PhD in molecular biology, genetics or biotechnology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is highly desirable
*Experience in supervising a team, including demonstrated ability in managing employee performance is a bonus
*Excellent time management and organization skills, with superb attention to detail
*Ability to mentor and coach; seeks opportunities to help others grow and become their best
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*Ability to work outside of normal hours/shift
