The department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Researcher. Primary duties include:

*Care for a mouse colony, including genotyping, breeding and mouse dissections
*Perform laboratory experiments and support research in cellular and molecular biology, genetics and genomics
*Maintenance of Mammalian Cell Culture Lines
*Prepare common reagents such as buffers
*Molecular biology laboratory activities such as DNA and RNA extraction from various tissue types, and Next-generation sequencing sample preparation
*Primer design and PCR amplification, Electrophoresis, Genotyping
*Data analysis using R and Unix-based systems

Note: this is a limited position and may convert to career

*A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field
*Completion of biological research-lab based course work in cell culture and bioinformatics
*Knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques (e.g. bacterial transformation, cell culture transfection, RT- PCR, gel electrophoresis, western blot, HPLC and spectrophotometer assays)
*Excellent communication skills
*Superb time management and organization skills
