Research Assistant

The department of Medicine-Cardiology is seeking to hire a part-time Research Assistant to assist with fundamental and translational research involving chemotherapy-induced cardiomyopathy and atherosclerosis. Responsibilities include: breeding fish embryos, breeding mice, genotyping, cardiac imaging, heart isolation, artery isolation, tissue preparation for histology, and histology.

Note: This is a part-time (50%) position (approximately 20 hours/week).

*Experience following research protocols
*Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
*Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
*Team player
*Experience with handling animals in research environment (e.g. fish, mice) is highly desirable
*Previous clinical or health services research experience is a bonus
*Experience coordinating projects is preferred
*Excellent writing skills, as evidenced by co-authorship or authorship of research or technical reports, in order to write or edit correspondence, progress reports, and research papers is a plus
