Job Summary
  • Responsible for measuring business effectiveness, researching business practices and analyzing process data to develop and implement sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable operational and strategic process improvements.
  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma). Diagrams and evaluates existing processes.
  • Organizes leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams. Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Collects data to identify root cause of problems.
  • Measures performance against process requirements. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
  • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
  • Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.
  • May communicate team progress.
  • Performs cost and benefit analyses.

  • Provides complex analytical support through the analysis and interpretation of data to support improvement of Medi-Cal directed payment business processes.
  • Analyzes and assures the quality of data collected and manages data collection plans.
  • Gathers customer and business needs and provides analysis toward operational efficiency and drives change within and operational area.
  • Develops maps of manual and automated business processes, capturing organizational and process models, data and system workflows, describing the roles, activities, inputs and outputs.
  • Facilitates process workshop sessions using proven facilitation techniques, and incorporating business process and process design knowledge.
  • May participates in customer facing focus groups to document end to end customer journey and needs.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships across operational roles. Building alliances between parties and expert in knowing what's necessary to execute and achieve the goals of the business in harmony with the goals of all areas of business and delivery.
  • Guides/maintains alignment through communications and change management strategies.
  • Facilitate governance needed to manage the introduction of new work into operational areas.
  • May be responsible for BPM functional duties such as reporting and SharePoint administration.
  • Responsible for making moderate improvements of operational end to end processes, systems or products to enhance performance across functional business areas within the enterprise.
  • Identify waste across existing operational processes using the Lean Sigma methodology and toolset.
  • Issues faced are numerous and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems are difficult and moderately complex, unique issues spread horizontally across the enterprise, and are usually solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
  • Develops new perspectives and innovative approaches on existing problems.
  • Leads the identification and elimination of waste in department level processes.
  • Requires ability to communicate with senior business leadership regarding matters of significant importance to their organization.
  • May manage deliverables by delegating work and reviewing of work performed by other team members.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelors degree or Masters.
  • Must demonstrate progress towards a Yellow or Green Belt from ASQ (Lean or Six Sigma).
  • Expert knowledge of automated systems in a production or operations environment.
  • Expert knowledge of PCs and related software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent writing, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Superior math, analytical and problem-solving skills and use of analytical tools (e.g. MiniTab, Excel graphs).
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires deep knowledge of process improvement tools typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Typically, viewed as a specialist in process improvement. May have broad knowledge of project management.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
