Site Name: USA - Pennsylvania - Upper Providence, USA - Pennsylvania - King of Prussia Posted Date: Jun 9 2021 The Worldwide Real Estate and Facilities (WREF) organization oversees and operates 16 million square feet of space with a population of over 28,000 GSK and other staff, including all pharmaceutical R&D laboratories and pilot plant, Consumer Health R&D laboratories and pilot plant and commercial office accommodation for all GSK business units. This portfolio of property currently requires an annual spend of more than £450m in operating costs and £200m in capital investment. The Technical Operations Manager/Electrical role will provide ongoing engineering support to WREF Operations, responsible for Facilities Services and Capital Projects program management. This will include the development and improvement of processes that support the operational delivery model and interfaces with other GSK functions, service partners and other 3rd party providers. The purpose of this role is to support the consistent delivery of facilities and services, working to ensure they are aligned to the local needs and priorities of the business, and to ensure that cost, quality and compliance metrics are achieved by key contract partners. The incumbent will be responsible for regional compliance to external licensing and statutory requirements for engineering services provided by WREF. Key Responsibilities: Verify Contract Partners' Critical and Key Performance Indicators - ensuring GSK's support services requirements are met. Identify and evaluate business driven variations to service delivery. Lead investigations and mitigation plans at the site for significant service failures, critical/major audit findings, dispute resolution and process improvements. Champion implementation of engineering standards and process improvement initiatives from WREF service towers into site delivery teams. Identify and implement areas for EHS risk reduction and environmental sustainability. The GSK Responsible Person for external license to support the statutory Duty Holders in WREF. As Responsible Person, ensure compliance to Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and ensure that the Engineering activity is always a safe place to work and ‘inspection ready'. Will specialize in one or more of these High Severity Risk statutory systems such as: hazardous utility systems (Generators, UPS); Building life safety systems; high voltage electrical Conduct site audits of contractor work being conducted at the site to ensure compliance with national, local and GSK standards. Manage “ad-hoc” business projects as required by WREF Site Operations Director. Represent Facilities Management needs and priorities into WREF budgeting process Determine site facilities and utilities development needs and priorities in conjunction with contract partners. Represent these needs and priorities into WREF service towers. Maintain ethics and compliance values even when potential risk exists. Execute remediation plans from policy gap assessments. Escalate risks and/or conflicts with local customer's ways of working. Deploy compliance processes locally and identify/escalate operational risks to governance teams. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree 8+ years' experience in the management of complex facilities support services to a large office or pharmaceutical facility, including a GxP environment Experience and knowledge of the Research & Development process and understands GxP requirements Experience with establishing and growing strong working relationships with key external contract partners, to deliver appropriate site services in agreement with established contracts Experience in Lean Sigma/Operational Excellence/ADP techniques Experience and understanding of statutory legislation responsibilities in a technically complex environment Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Acts as a role model for applying standards to ensure compliance Financially literate, with the ability to analyze budget performance for WREF and CapEX (capital expenditures) Ability to work with minimal supervision Why GSK?
