Staff SW Engineer


Join our team that has responsibility for creating next generation automation solutions on a complex Commercial Print inkjet product line, with a focus on research and development. This position requires the ability to implement solutions utilizing numerous imaging, system inputs, and high-performance code to apply real time updates.

Our team is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to augment our efforts to expand and enhance our products through automation. Requires experience applying engineering analysis to solve problems associated with complex integrated systems. You will closely work with an engineering team with diverse skillsets to develop and integrate next generation automation.

This position is in our beautiful Boulder, CO location which has numerous amenities such as a fitness center and cafeteria. Travel up to 10% required.

  • Work with various development teams to identify and develop strategic and unique solutions
  • Evaluate proposed development solutions using controlled laboratory and field tests and analyze test results
  • Optimization of printer systems via statistical and numerical techniques as well as computer vision/machine learning applications
  • Develop feedback for automated printer control
  • Prepare and present detailed test reports for executive management, and engineering teams as required

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

Required skills
  • Strong coding proficiency with Python and C++
  • Developing code for high performance on edge devices
  • Productize prototype code for product implementation
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Effective code documentation
  • Flexible and self-motivated, with a problem solver's altitude
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to redirect efforts and change focus in response to changing business needs

Preferred skills
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with API development and usage
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology
  • Experience with implementing software on Cloud (AWS, etc)
  • Knowledge of SDK development
  • Familiarity with electronic imaging devices such as line scan cameras, spectrophotometers, densitometers, etc

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
