Senior eDiscovery Manager - Staff Data Analyst

The Senior eDiscovery Manager is an important member of Walmart’s Legal and Global Investigations eDiscovery team. You will support Walmart’s Global Investigations (GI), Legal Investigations (LI), and the Litigation Departments (LD) by executing repeatable and defensible case eDiscovery workflows, including all activities in the EDRM, from collection scoping of electronically stored information (ESI) to production of documents. This position will heavily focus on Relativity project management support for Walmart’s diverse litigation portfolio. You will interact with Relativity service providers, Walmart’s legal team, and its outside counsel ecosystem every day, as well with members of other Walmart global cross-functional Information Technology teams who support the lab-certified ESI collection process for litigated matters.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute industry accepted eDiscovery best practices and workflows using best-in-class technology. This role requires extensive (5 years) experience working in Relativity as a case project manager.
  • Provide and supervise consultative services to support the entire EDRM, including advising on approaches for ESI scoping and the development of search and review strategies.
  • Advise legal team regarding impact of provisions in ESI protocols drafted by the parties in litigation matters which affect the workflows and expense of document review and complexity, or add risk to Walmart.
  • Execute advanced unstructured data analytics techniques (for example, conceptual searches, categorization, machine learning algorithms) and develop efficient review workflows.
  • Lead/Participate in training on Relativity, AI-related projects and emerging tools which support discovery activities.
  • Create detailed notes about critical decision points during the discovery process.
  • Partner with team members, leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and discuss discovery trends and risks.
  • Provide data-driven analysis and insights to help support business strategies by evaluating ongoing analytical needs; reporting data-based insights in a uniform manner; reporting on business strategies; collaborating with internal and external business partners to build a consistent and accurate strategy for using data-driven insights.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing internal and external relationships by partnering closely with Walmart’s attorneys, outside counsel, Relativity service providers and forensic examiners around the globe to support cases of varying complexity, volume, and risk.
  • Leveraging, applying, and documenting advanced Technology Assisted Review (TAR) workflows across large volumes of data to identify relevant information, save time, or otherwise meet case objectives as defined by investigators or counsel.
  • Tracking and reporting on metrics to measure case and program performance, turnaround times, and outcomes.
  • Migrating or importing productions from one eDiscovery platform to another
  • Partnering with leadership to help train attorneys on our internal processes and leveraging analytics.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if:
  • You are a highly experienced user or administrator of Relativity, and have relevant Relativity certifications.
  • You can execute data processing in RelOne, searching/filtering, review support, and production-related activities.
  • You have experience supporting large managed review activities including batching, search queries, production QC protocol execution, and similar.
  • You have effective usage of and updates to eDiscovery related reports including end-to-end ESI tracking, reviewer productivity metrics, and decision logging.
  • You are comfortable advising non-technical audiences regarding the expected benefits of using TAR and technology to reduce document review spend in a manner that is repeatable, defensible and cost-effective.
  • You have at least 3+ years’ experience with eDiscovery industry tools (for example, Relativity/RelativityOne, Nuix, iPro, Brainspace, EnCase).
  • You possess relevant industry certifications, including but not limited to; Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA); Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; Certified eDiscovery Specialist Certification (CEDS).
