Cost Estimator


  • Cost Estimator will support our government customer in Springfield, VA . The ideal candidate will provide expert cost estimating support (e.g., certified cost estimator credential) for project execution programs, manage and maintain major annual project budget.


  • Develops all programming, budget, and execution documentation that supports major construction efforts culminating in projects.
  • Develops and/or validate all project cost estimates for program and use expertise to input updates in DoD-mandated BUILDER software.
  • Researches and validates documentation justifying funding sources for projects.
  • Prepares presentations to justify proposed project cost estimates to senior management and identify and analyze alternatives leading to recommended courses of action that satisfy facility project cost requirements.
  • Provides clear and concise reports detailing methodology used, options considered, and recommended ways forward.
  • Develops and maintains all cost data collected from relevant projects (past, current, future) in a cost library database, or equivalent electronic platform, which shall be capable of easy use by facilities engineers to develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE).


  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience within related field
    • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCE/A), Certified Parametric Practitioner (CPP), Certified Cost Engineer / Consultant (CCE/CCC), or equivalent
    • Holds an active TS/SCI clearance
    • Experience:
      • 7+ Years Related Experience
      • General knowledge of DoD
    • Skills & Technology Used:
      • Comprehensive computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
      • Additional skills include the following: briefing skills, project management, organizational skills, and communication skills.
