Program Financial Analyst

Overview

    This position provides support to various DoD customers in Virginia and Maryland. This position supports the Operational side of the house, working directly with Project Directors, Program Managers and the Customer. Responsible for creating and supplying program/financial reports and deliverables to Program Leadership and the Customer including budgets, estimates to complete, monthly spending, invoicing support and tracking, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and adjust data for multi-faceted operating programs into a wide variety of reports, forms, and spreadsheets. Consolidates data for visible overview of financial status of programs in coordination with project/program management
  • Monitor and edit financial data on a regular basis to verify data entered is current, accurate, and up to date
  • Compile and publish detailed reports to management and the customer using multiple data sources.
  • Analyze and develop cost data to determine the overall status of multi-faceted operating programs including operating expense trends and projections.
  • Conduct numerous cost studies for a variety of decision-making processes involving program planning, procurement, contracting, budgetary actions, and financial resources.
  • Review and analyze a broad base of historical data and current trends to validate and consolidate requests and estimates for an integrated program budget. Identify trends indicating a deficit/surplus in current and future funding.
  • Develop and maintain Excel models to facilitate effective monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  • Generate purchase requests and manage purchase orders and credit card purchases.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation activities in coordination with cost accounting staff.
  • Assist in developing cost and progress reports for submittal to customer.
  • Support customer progress reviews and meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and track action item register, as required by project.
  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related program.
    • Five years experience in Finance and/or Accounting
    • Advanced experience with Excel (pivot tables, named ranges, charts, graphs, conditional formatting, etc) required
    • All candidates must hold an active DoD Security Clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
    • Potential for day travel to alternate Vectrus offices in the MD/VA area as needed.
  • Experience
    • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams highly desired.
    • Experience planning and tracking budgets.
    • Experience forecasting and analyzing data using advanced computations skills.
    • Experience providing financial or resource reports by researching and utilizing data sources to identify needs.
    • Experience assisting with long-term business plans based on financial health and trend analysis.
    • Experience assisting with financial or resource assessments while executing solutions to current and future financial or resource issues.
    • Experience with IFS and UltiPro software desired.
