Basic Purpose:

Working as part of a small, agile team to design andimplement new features and technologies. Delivering high quality, high performance code in an agileenvironment. Using, evaluating, andlearning exciting new technologies that keep our products and teams on thecutting edge. As a key member of theteam, this individual will help build complex workflows using GeneticsInformation Systems Suite of products with a focus on quality, performance, andresiliency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze, design, and support all laboratoryfunctions related to SCC Genetic Information System Suite of products. Complete workflow build/configuration, InstrumentIntegration, Management reports, HIS Mapping, RBS (Rule-bases system) tasksindependently as well as under direction from the product owner and developmentleads.A strong interfacing background is helpful, aswell as ability to test, trouble shoot and support as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (QA,Business Analyst, Tech Pubs, etc.) in an Agile/Scrum team environment.Assist with the generation and analysis ofbusiness and functional requirements for proposed software solutions.Participate in architectural and database designdiscussions as they relate to product direction.
Create design specifications, documentation, andunit testing plans as defined by the Agile development process.Maintain and support software solutionspost-production.

Education Preferred:

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Work Experience:

2-3 years of healthcare/laboratory information systems support, and development experience required. Professional experience in build, implementation, testing, maintaining, and supporting day-to-day Genetic LIMS systems. Professional experience in software development or technical engineering capacity.2+ years of experience in domain such as laboratory, SCC Genetic Information System Suite of products- SoftCytogenetics, SoftMolecular, SoftTQC, SoftSecurity, Interface for mapping and Reporting generation using Adhoc Query and Management report Tool (MRT).2+ years of experience with custom application software development using Java.
Laboratory experience working with lab directors, medical directors, Experience In workflow assessments, Experience with IT Validation, upgrades, Instrument validation.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills along with strong presentation skills.
Prior experience in SCC Genetics Information System Suite of Products and LIS is preferred.
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented (OO) design patterns, distributed databases, and data modeling techniques
Database design and writing complex SQL in an Oracle environment.
Experience in an Agile development environment utilizing the scrum methodology.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Good team player and can work independently.
Knowledge of healthcare messaging standards such as HL7.
Server-side technologies such as Messaging/MOM(JMS, MQSeries)
Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, Soft applications, and development tools.

Other:

The following are preferred but not required:1+ years of experience using Java enterprise technologies (JEE).Server-side technologies such as WebLogic, Messaging/MOM (JMS, MQSeries), EJB 2.0/3.0, and Web Services (SOAP, REST).Web UI frameworks and technologies such as GWT, Spring MVC, HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, JQuery, Backbone, Ember, AngularJS, Bootstrap.Experience in an Agile development environment utilizing the Scrum methodology.Experience with web or hosted/cloud-basedapplications that handle high-volume and require high-Knowledgeof healthcare messaging standards such as HL7, NCPDP, and DIRECT.
