Medical Assistant - Digestive Diseases (North Hollywood)


In this position, you will be responsible for providing care
in the Endoscopy Area/GI Laboratory meeting both the psychosocial and physical
needs of patients. You will act as a staff person in the office, assisting in patient care, and maintain high standards of care.

  • Possession of Medical Assistant Certification or diploma
  • Possession of active CPR certification/BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Demonstrates ability, under the direct supervision of an RN or RN Supervisor, to perform an overall assessment of all patients and reassessments as pre-operatively necessary
  • Demonstrates an ability with assisting physicians/nurses in
    performing treatments/procedures and provide service to all patients
  • Helps formulate a teaching plan to include pre-procedure to discharge based on patient learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, including patients' family when deemed
  • Skills in obtaining/recording
    patient vital signs before and during treatment/procedures
  • Ability to perform three and
    twelve lead EKGs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate appropriately and
    clearly to patients, nurses, physicians and other staff members
  • Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during treatment
    and procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to be flexible, organized
    and function under stressful situations
  • Skill in recognizing an
    emergency or high priority situation and taking appropriate and immediate
  • Ability to push, pull or carry 30 lbs
    or more
