Sr. Custodian, Career - Westwood

Responsibilities

All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective manner.

In this role you will:

* Clean assigned work areas, patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms, office's, hallways and corridors with the correct chemicals and equipment

* Consistently display friendly, cheerful and accommodating behaviors towards patients, visitors, customers and co-workers

* Demonstrate knowledge and performance of all skills required on the EVS Schedule

* Ensure maintenance request forms are completed

* Follow hospital/EVS policy, safety protocols, and procedures exactly as outlined in the department's procedure manual

* Maintain assigned areas clean, attractive, safe, and sanitary

* Maintain cleanliness and security of locked medication storage rooms and equipment

* Maintain daily reports on project work or room cleaning

* Notify Supervisor of problems

* Pick up communication tools/equipment by signing in and out at the beginning and ending of each shift Report any damage to Supervisor

* Safeguard and preserves the confidentiality of patients and protected health information in accordance with the state and federal (HIPPA) regulatory requirements, hospital and departmental policies

* Transports large carts of linen to and from various areas of the hospital

* Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Our top candidate will demonstrate the following:

* interpersonal skill to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and staff

* skill to understand procedures, memos, labels, directions, forms and signs.

* Writing skill to maintain accurate legible records and logs.

* Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and climb stairs and ladders for long periods of times, lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., and to push and pull mops, brooms, carts, vacuum cleaners and other power equipment.

* Ability to complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.

Preferred:

* Prior hospital or hotel experience.

* Two to three years of housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting and/or L.A. Unified School District Janitorial Services certification

* Ultra Violet Light (ULV) Disinfection equipment management.
