About This Role

This role will oversee project management of assigned capital projects at all Biogen manufacturing (drug substance, drug product, parenteral filling, oral solid dosage, oligosynthesis) and manufacturing support(utilities, lab, office, etc) in Biogen’s world class manufacturing site located in Research Triangle Park. The Project Manager will manage all aspects (safety, quality, cost, schedule, etc.) of capital projects from design through startup. The incumbentwill lead a cross functional, matrixed team of internal stakeholders, external project service providers, and external partners (A/E firms, CM firms, etc). All projects will be managed in compliance with Biogen project management best practices, which closely align with industry standards. This role is critical to ensuring Biogen manufacturing and support facilities continue to deliver life changing therapies to patients across the globe. The position will report to the Head of Project Engineering who oversees the capital project portfolio in RTP.

  • Lead projects up to $3M total installed cost with varying degrees of size and complexity.
  • Project types will be multidisciplinary, multi-modal, and require agility to handle the wide array of project types and challenges offered at diverse operating site.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, and startup of Biogen capital projects
  • Ensure compliance with Biogen best practices, industry norms, legal requirements
  • Coordinate with senior management, locally and at a corporate level, on project governance and scorecard communication.

Who YouAre
  • You have project management experience overseeing successful GMP manufacturing projects in operating facilities involving process, automation, mechanical, electrical, architectural scopes of work.
  • You have strong organizational, communication, teamwork, multitasking skills combined with a strong work ethic that directly influence and consistently result in successful project outcomes.


Required Skills
  • 10+ years project management experience in GMP pharmaceutical environments
  • Bachelor’s in engineering or construction management or similar
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced skills in cost and schedule management
  • Advanced skill in Excel and MS Project
