Network Transport Lead


Job Description:

Leidos Defense Enterprise and Cyber Solutions (E&CS) is searching for a Network Transport Lead for an exciting new business opportunity supporting the United States Space Force (USSF) to provide a Terrestrial Software Defined mesh Network referred to as meshONE-T. The Network Transport Lead is responsible for leading all activities across all aspects of the Transport Network for the meshONE-T Program, including architecture, design and development of the meshONE-T Transport Network, leveraging MBSE concepts.

This challenging Program will support the USSF in developing a prototype/pathfinder for a scalable, resilient, cyber-secure data transport network to support the portfolio of United States Space Force (USSF) missions and Air Force ground systems.

Primary Responsibilities
  • The Network Transport Lead is responsible for all Network-related tasks during program startup and implementation, including establishing the Network Transport team for contract execution.
  • Works closely with the Program Chief Engineer to provide a MBSE-based Network Transport architecture and fielded solution(s) that adhere to the Program schedule and budget.
  • Works closely with the Program Chief Engineer providing status, establishing approval processes and obtaining reach-back support from Network Transport-related programs throughout Leidos to deliver successful program execution.
  • Works closely with the USSF Network Transport Lead and other customer leadership at the most senior levels regarding the delivery of a SD-WAN Network Transport solution for meshONE-T.
  • Mentors and coaches other Network Transport technical staff.

Basic Qualifications
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance with confirmed SCI eligibility.
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college with 15 or more years of cyber engineering experience; or a Doctorate in a technical discipline from an accredited college with 13 or more years of cyber engineering experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2 or more years as the Network Transport for a large scale program(s).
  • 5 or more years supporting Network Transport architecture, design and development.
  • Experience leading a team of Network Transport professionals to design and implement mesh networks.
  • Ability to telecommute with significant travel expected to the DC Metro area and various USSF locations, primarily Los Angeles Air Force Base and USSF facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • IAT Level II Certification (one of the following): Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with customer and Network Transport stakehholders to achieve success.
  • Experience with standard Network Transport and Digital engineering concepts to produce working solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MBSE leveraged for Network Architecture and Design
