OTD | Department of Occupational Therapy

Summary of Job Duties:

The Teaching Assistant Professor will work with the program director and Occupational Therapy (OT) faculty in this developing OTD program to design the curriculum, develop course content and lab activities, and establish relationships with community partners. This is a 12-month faculty position with significant teaching, student advisement, and mentoring responsibilities. Service, participation in student projects, and some scholarship are also required.

All faculty in this program will be expected to participate in practice and in the supervision of students in the clinic or the community. All faculty will participate in the fieldwork process and may do site visits. Travel may be required for this position.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution conferred by date of employment
  • Experience or expertise that will contribute to the teaching and learning environment or clinical practice of the department
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level
  • Potential to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), evidence-based practice, and/or innovative practice
  • Record of productive service to the department, institution, and profession
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Required License:
  • Licensed/eligible for Arkansas OT license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five years of clinical experience treating diverse populations
  • Expertise in pediatric occupational therapy
  • Experience with course development and teaching in an integrated curriculum
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Established ties to the local community
