At WMC, Vertical Brand Strategy leveragesdata and insightson customers, categories, trends, etc.tocreateactions-orientedsales enablementstrategies that articulate how our client and agency partners canbetter connect with customers, togrow their businessand drive resultsat Walmart through WMC media and marketing solutions.

Vertical Brand Strategy is focused on drivingpartnerships andinvestmentin WMC.

OVERVIEW

Walmart Connect(WMC)is looking for an experienceddata-drivenstrategist, storyteller and marketing insights guru topartner with Sales to drivegrowth and excellenceacrossHousehold Chemicals, Paper, Baby, Petsaccounts.

As thelead strategist,youwillbe an expertresourceforthe category, leading itby leveragingomnichannelinsights tocreatemarketing and media strategiesthat drive growth forWalmartConnect’sbrand partnersthroughgo-to-market strategic recommendations,sales enablementplaybooks,andmarketing collateral.

This position sitsunderWMCMarketing and reports to the Director of Vertical Brand Strategy.

CORERESPONSIBILITIES

  • BecomeWMC’s master strategist, empoweringWMCSales to drive internal and external partnerships and growthforHousehold Chemicals, Paper, Baby, Petsaccountsby:


1.Developinginsights-drivenand trends-basedcategorydeep divesand strategic recommendationsthatuncover opportunitiesfor brands to connect with Walmart customers and grow throughWMC’s omnichannel media and integrated marketing solutions:always-on (Walmart.com/app), always-in (Walmart stores)and pulse (seasonals and category moments)—specifically to enableHousehold Chemicals, Paper, Baby,Petspartnerships. These are actions-oriented and directly linked toWMC’s media and omni marketing solutions.

  • This includessourcing intelligence to createcategorydeep dives and strategic recommendations,media strategyplaybooks, marketing collateral, etc.
  • It alsoinvolvessupportingJBPs, QBRs, Top-to-tops, Immersion Days,“One Walmart”sessions, and ad hoc requests for sizeable pitches.


2.Producingbest-in-class case studiesthatbringWMC’ssolutions,andmedia and marketing activations tolifethrough a strong insights-driven and customer-centric narrative, for pre-sales support and external marketing.

  • Drivea“One Walmart”go-to-market approach by proactively leading partnershipswith enterprise andWMCcross-functionalstakeholders,to alignWMC’s recommendations for suppliers withWalmart’smerchandising and marketing strategies.
  • Collaboratecross-functionally withcenters of excellence to mine and produce intelligence, as well as withthe rest oftheWMCMarketing team todrive omnichannel solutions,and supportbrand marketing andexternal communications.


  • Consistently deliver a balance of analytical rigor and storytelling in every single output and communication, always being prepared to convey insightsand influencewith a strong point of view.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree for this role. MBA or advanced-level academic degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum6-8yearsofexperienceworking cross-functionally inbrandorperformance marketing,strategicplanning, ordigitaladvertisingormedia.
  • Relevantagency, media or brand-sideHousehold Chemicals, Paper, Baby, Petscategoryexperience.
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.


  • Abalance of right brain,left brain:Beinghighly analytical,curious bydataand articulate in connecting insights to strategiesthatdemonstrate creativity—thathave a compelling story arc and narrative.


THE BONUS - STRONGLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Retail/e-commerce experience.
