Sr DevOps Engineer

Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Hands on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Terraform
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS, Active Directory, VPN, VNets, Windows Server, Linux, SMTP, DNS, PowerShell, ARM templates
  • Experience with relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres) with the ability to write SQL commands and identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining monitoring systems such as Application Insights, New Relic, Graphite, Pingdom, Logstash - Elasticsearch and Kibana and with a demonstrated ability to write new checks.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems internals with a good understanding of networking and protocols.
    • Ubuntu experience preferred.
    • Excellent with shell commands (sed, grep, awk, and regular expressions).
    • Experience using and maintaining configuration automation systems such as Chef Ansible.
    • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Nginx, Apache, Redis, and Memcache.
    • Ability to read and write complex Bash and Ruby scripts to automate system deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Additional experience with the following is desirable: .NET Framework, Active Directory, iOS, Android.
  • Capable and self-motivated to quickly learn new technologies, scripting languages, and frameworks.
  • Ability to quickly prioritize and context-switch across multiple projects and technologies
  • Experience with the design, development, planning and maintenance of integrated systems
  • Experience creating innovative products, and learning from both success and failure
  • Experience judging the usefulness of products and technologies
  • The ideal candidate will be familiar with and have technical experience that maps to the SSAE-16 standard or similar standards. Audit experience preferred.

    • ISO 14971: Risk Management
    • ISO 13485: Medical Device Quality System Management requirements
    • IEC 62304: Software Development Life cycle
    • IEC 60601: General Safety Requirements
    • ISO 62366: Usability
    • 21 CFR 820: Design Control Requirements
    • Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for Approval to Operate (ATO).
    • Knowledge of FISMA/FedRAMP requirements.
    • Knowledge of Federal security standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and upgrade new systems, services, virtual networks and applications
  • Monitor network and platform components and environments
  • Respond to incidents and outages.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in a 24x7 On-Call rotation schedule.
  • Assist with defining and meeting reliability and performance metrics
  • Create and iterate monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reporting
  • Create documentation, including but not limited to installation procedures, system diagrams, operational service requests, and change orders
  • Optimize cloud resources to reduce overall costs
  • Author and utilize automation scripts when possible
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and exercises
  • Perform system and database migrations, archival and decommissioning
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as patches, antivirus, updates, backups, and certificate renewals
  • Manage access to systems based upon approved access requests
