Screening Technologist

The position of Screening Technician is within our Toxicology located at Richmond, Virginia. This role will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the screening instrument and initial review of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot issues with screening instruments.
  • Must understand and can explain the methods used for initial screening of specimens, including Immunoassay (IA) and Fluorescence Polarization Immunoassay (FPIA) methods.
  • Adherence to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information.
  • Adhere to all established guidelines outlined in Alere's Employee Handbook.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably Biology or Chemistry


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understand analytical techniques and procedures.
  • Understand laboratory instrumentation.
  • Understand certification requirements for SAMSHA, CAP-FUDT, and other relevant bodies.
  • Understand the function of a (LIS) Laboratory Information System and other laboratory computer systems.
  • Ability to work independently.
