Sr. Legal Counsel, Healthcare

Job Description
The Senior Legal Counsel - Transformation position will fill a critical legal need for the company by providing legal advice and counsel to the Transformation Business team as we work to define the future state of care delivery and the ideal consumer experience model for our company to drive toward better patient experiences, improved health outcomes and reduced costs. This attorney will serve as a subject matter expert to advise the business on health care regulatory requirements related to our payor-agnostic product offerings and provider services. S/he will identify business and legal risks and work with the business to provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have deep healthcare regulatory subject matter expertise as well as the ability to develop an understanding of the business and operational goals of assigned internal clients, proactively advise business partners on wide variety of matters and work collaboratively with other attorneys/partners on matters related to legal and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications
1. A minimum of 6 years of legal experience focused on health care regulatory law, preferably involving health care treatment/provider services or health plan services, in a sophisticated or complex environment.
2. Subject matter expertise of health care laws and regulations, including the False Claims Act; the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute/Stark; Corporate Practice of Medicine.
3. Ability to synthesize and apply multiple regulatory frameworks to business activities.
4. Demonstrated analytical skills and strong legal project management and facilitation skills.
5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, provide leadership, influence organization behavior and create alignment across disparate groups.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Admitted to practice law in good standing in at least one state.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Contract drafting and negotiation skills.
2. In-house experience.
3. Understanding of and experience advising on provider/health plan risk arrangements and clinical risk-bearing entities and/or arrangements.

Education
1. JD (Juris Doctor) - license to practice (in good standing) in at least one state

2. Bachelor Degree
