Dick's Sanitation is looking for an experienced Receptionistto join our Lakeville, MN team! Our receptionist is the face of our team providing excellent customer service to our existing, and potential DSI customers by greeting them, and responding to product and service questions. The position will also be responsible for responding to customer emails, and monitoring the voice mail system. The role will perform data entry for the customer service team. The schedule for the position will be Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30 PM.

  • To greet visitors, and respond to questions.
  • Backup Customer Service Representatives for phone coverage.
  • Provides support to DSI sales personnel and DSI operations personnel.
  • Respond, or direct emails to appropriate parties from the customer service email account.
  • Respond, or direct to appropriate parties, voice mails from the customer service phone line.
  • Perform data entry from the customer service team.
  • Assists DSI management and other DSI departments with special projects when assigned.
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's issues; determining the cause of the issue; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the issue; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
  • Continually seeks out, reports and contributes to problem solving in order to correct or prevent customer issues.
  • Maintains financial accounts by processing customer adjustments.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year previous customer service experience
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and detail oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • Must have exceptional communication skills in order to effectively and tactfully deal with internal and external customer inquiries and complaints
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship or future sponsorship

  • Previous commercial customer service experience in the waste industry
  • Previous customer service experience in a call center environment

  • Working ability to read and follow written and oral instructions and to hear at a level sufficient to communicate with staff.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to maintain a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and proficiently in both oral and written form with an emphasis on email communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work a consistent work schedule and punctuality is required
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adhere to company rules and regulations
  • Ability and desire to work successfully in a small, family owned environment.
