Director Medical Affairs, Respiratory Biologics

As a Director Medical Affairs on the US Respiratory & Immunology Medical team, you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to truly make a positive impact by changing patients' lives.

This DMA role will report directly to the Franchise Head, Respiratory, US Medical. Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Close collaboration with the medical team to develop medical strategy and evidence strategy in support of a respiratory biologic in development
  • Development and execution of the Brand Medical Plan, with accountability for all US Medical components of the plan
  • Active organization and leadership of medical team meetings
  • Coordination of activities and external engagements at appropriate US congresses
  • Working with advocacy groups and guideline organizations
  • Management of brand medical budget to ensure appropriate allocation and milestone completion
  • Development and execution of US advisory boards
  • Development and execution of training materials for field teams including MSL teams
  • Input into the educational grant review and selection process
  • Coordination of medical education at regional and national professional society meetings
  • Being a valued partner to commercial team to maintain strong alignment with medical affairs

Essential Requirements:
  • Master's degree in science-related field, such as Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or equivalent
  • >3 years managing programs in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of medical strategy, clinical development, and medical science liaison areas
  • Ability to manage a diverse group of responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Leadership abilities
  • Expert technical depth in disease area
  • Strategic influencing skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)

Desirable Requirements:
  • Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or equivalent
  • Master of Business Administration degree
  • Respiratory disease experience
  • 2 or more years in a strategy-setting role within Medical Affairs
  • Working knowledge of FDA requirements
  • Knowledge of information/technology systems
  • Experience with social media platforms to gain insights on evolving science
