Online Content Specialist


Goodman Distribution Inc, a member of the Daikin group is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Online Content Specialist position within our Goodman Business Unit Marketing Department located at the Daikin Texas Technology Park in Waller, TX, just outside Houston. The Online Content Specialist should have SEO (search engine optimization) experience and the ability to research, write and monitor various types of content to expand our company's digital footprint, awareness, subscribers, and leads.

This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills. The Online Content Specialist should be able to develop engaging content for multiple online and offline platforms to attract and retain customers. May include;
  • Research, write and edit content for articles, brochures, ads, industry communications, eBooks, newsletters, websites, social media, etc. for use in a variety of marketing campaigns, for both print and digital
  • Undertake content marketing initiatives to achieve business targets
  • Create and deploy both on-page SEO and off-page SEO for numerous websites supported by the company utilizing SEO best practices and Google Analytics results.
  • Develop and improve organic search engine performance based on click-through rates, traffic, and conversions.
  • Analyze web and social media traffic metrics, and apply lessons learned to increase audience and engagement
  • Share content through various channels, ensuring strong web presence
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendar, tracking content through the editorial process, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Deliver engaging content regularly while monitoring currently published digital content
  • Edit, proofread and continually improve current content
  • Create free resources on a regular basis to drive leads, awareness, and/or other important metrics (examples include eBooks, whitepapers, infographics, guides, templates, etc.).
  • Collaborate with graphic and digital designers, product managers, sales professionals, and industry experts to produce content that will help us build our relationships with customers
  • Receive and respond to customer feedback
  • Generate ideas to increase customer engagement
  • Provide writing assistance on other non-digital projects as assigned


Knowledge & Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of search ranking and optimization factors and key algorithm updates.
  • Experience with digital marketing platforms including, but not limited to, Google, Hubspot, Freshdesk/ZenDesk, LinkedIn and other social media websites preferred
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing tactics and channel - specific knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with SEO and traffic metrics
  • Building audiences either online or offline.
  • Experience in social media and Web content and advertising with an understanding of the unique platform audiences
  • Proficient in MS Office - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • A dual-minded approach: Highly creative with expert writing capabilities that can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data and peer input to make decisions.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of communicating with people of many different levels of an organization
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and intuitive with a positive attitude
  • Editorial mindset with a capacity to predict audience preferences based on data
  • Project management skills and attention to detail

  • 3-5 years of results driven copywriting or content marketing experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
