The Industrial Engineer plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of warehouse and logistics operations for Equipment, Parts and Supply. About DTTP

Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman , the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman , Amana , and Daikin brands.

May include in addition to;

  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data to improve productivity and efficiency,
  • Utilizes proven lean principles for warehousing and manufacturing areas.
  • Abilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased quality, work flow improvements, etc.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD software to design racking, layout, work flow and material handling processes.
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties,
  • Interacts with MHE vendors and suppliers staying informed on industry trends,
  • Data analysis for metric tracking and metric generation.
  • Recommends reorganizing work flow, relocating of equipment and recommends purchase of equipment.
  • Coordinate project work internally with the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.
  • Work with Solutions Group on projects and data gathering when assigned.
  • Complete understanding of Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery Metrics.
  • Knowledgeable of Lean, Kaizen and 5S principles.
  • Ability to work out the time taken to perform a task or to complete a particular production stage and set performance standards.
  • Establishes continuous improvement goals and executes action plans.
  • Perform other job duties as required by supervisor/manager.


Nature & Scope:
  • Works within knowledge.
  • Will work with the other Goodman logistics areas and manufacturing when needed.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of warehousing and material handling processes and practice.
  • New warehouse construction.
  • Familiar with MHE equipment and solutions.
  • Software skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD,
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams.


  • 5-7 years of experience in logistics and warehouse design, process flow and new warehouse construction
  • Design and implementation of automated MHE equipment.
  • Lean principles for warehousing
  • Led Kaizan, value stream mapping, Kanban, 5S

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Six Sigma Certification - preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. The manufacturing area has high volume production with forklift traffic. Certain areas may have higher sound levels in which hearing protection is required.
