This senior level role:
  • Is the I&I site lead for a growing Early Development site in North America.
  • Coordinates efforts of the local team and partners with global leaders to drive consistent solutions.
  • Assists the departmental management with the formulation, development and implementation of plans, policies and procedures within department guidelines to improve the work quality, efficiency, productivity, and expense control of the group.
  • Learns to monitor the quality and production metrics for staff evaluation
  • Helps in the development of standard language for reports and protocols, and company-wide formatting guidelines.
  • Has a deep scientific knowledge of immunology and common techniques in the field such as flow cytometry and ELISA/immunoassay.
  • Ensures adequate cross-site communication among group members, department personnel, and management staff.
  • Works with training staff to develop training plans, and ensures sufficient training for staff.
  • Peer reviews protocols and reports of other PI/CS's.
  • Meets with clients as necessary to develop relationships and establish/clarify specific client requirements.
  • Learns the needed financial aspects of the business (e.g. study pricing, workload targets, revenue targets)
  • Participates in scientific meetings and may become involved in leadership in scientific organizations, including publishing research findings and attaining peer recognition through contributing to the field of Immunotoxicology.
  • Coaches and mentors staff

  • PhD or DMV preferred, or equivalent degree plus 3-5 years of experience in immunology, immunotoxicology or related field, or Master's or Bachelor's degree in related discipline plus 10 -12 years of experience. Experience managing people/teams preferred. Experience interpreting data and writing interpretive reports required. Experience may be substituted for education.


I. Experience:

  • Strong immunology/immunotoxicology background, both scientific and technical
  • Prior experience in Immunology / Immunotoxicology procedures, with knowledge of method development, and validation required.
  • Knowledge of immunotoxicology study design and conduct.
  • Knowledge of GLPs and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • A ptitude for teambuilding, leading teams and developing people.
  • Knowledge in planning, negotiation, and process innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all staff and management levels.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Strong English writing and communication skills.
  • Skilled in performing scientific presentations and preparing scientific publications.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and programs (e.g., word processing and spreadsheet applications).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all staff and management levels.
  • Skilled in making presentations.
