Job Description Summary

The Lead Financial Reporting Analyst is a dynamic role that plays a critical part on the controllership team. This role is responsible for all aspects and ownership of respective international legal entity including accurate financial reporting and analysis of the legal entity.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead accountant and subject matter expert for respective international legal entity/entities
  • Accounting and reporting of all aspects of trial balance (i.e. Cash, Accts Receivable, IBS, Accts Payable, Payroll, Travel and Living, Pension, etc ...)
  • Quarterly record to report and financial close functions
  • Statutory reporting and analysis for respective countries and local governments STG, STT and STAT reporting for local govts
  • Complete the invoice processing, payment processing, AP accounting, AP issue resolution
  • Prepare analysis and explanations behind variations in expenditure, revenue accounts and balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and review journal entries ensuring compliance with Local accounting procedures and US GAAP
  • Ownership and coordination while providing support to project managers for assigned legal entity
  • Analyze and correct variances between the subledgers and related GL accounts for fixed assets
  • Assist the team in working with KPMG and Corporate Audit Staff in providing audit schedules and to resolve any financial reporting issues identified during the audit
  • Prepare and review balance sheet analysis as needed to support business reviews
  • Complete Account Reconciliations as a member of the controllership team
  • Record consolidation journal entries during the monthly closing process
  • Provide solutions to accounting and financial questions from business unit or operating location personnel by researching, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Develop and provide training, as necessary
  • Participate in key strategic initiatives and assist with other ad hoc projects
  • Account Reconciliation administrator for the business as needed
  • Willingness to contribute, however possible, to ensure overall effectiveness of position
  • Collaborate with various levels of business and corporate financial personnel on accounting and disclosure matters
  • Work with Information Technology/Digital team to test enhancements made to financial processes
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Enforce Controllership in accordance with GE and GEH Policies and Procedures
  • Contribute and ensure all systems and processes adhere to GE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and recommend and implement enhancements as changes warrant
  • Advance job knowledge by staying up-to-date on new accounting pronouncements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Work with Digital team to test enhancements made to financial processes for area of ownership
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
  • Drive process and issue resolution and push for simplification


Qualifications/Requirements :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of Accounting experience


Desired Characteristics:
  • CPA license preferred
  • Public accounting experience
  • Oracle ERP experience
  • Tableau Reporting experience
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and drive change while working across all levels, functions and regions

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, self-starter
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and ability to react to emerging priorities
