This role is responsible for managing key products and capabilities within Microsoft's M365 Platform that is leveraged by employees across UnitedHealthGroup. They will engage customers, identify, define, analyze, prioritize, and refine requirements and will communicate those requirements to the Technology Delivery Teams. They will prioritize trade-offs, clarify requirements, and accept user stories throughout the Agile software development lifecycle. The incumbent will work directly with various internal and external stakeholders as well as with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery against the requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drives the product / capability vision, strategy, priority, and partners closely with the M365 Platform Team to refine the roadmap; engages appropriate enterprise-wide stakeholders to enable awareness and alignment
  • Understands and leverage a persona framework to identify needs, characteristics, patterns, behaviors, and tools end users need across UHG
  • Build, groom and prioritize capability backlog(s). Create and groom short, medium, and long-term capability roadmaps and get internal agreement with key stakeholders
  • Collaborates with the Technology Delivery Teams to run successful Release Planning and Sprint Planning sessions, as well as Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Produce Features that provide business value, and are sized and defined for Sprint planning, and collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy and feasibility
  • Establishes business value/outcome measures and metrics to measure effectiveness after release such as adoption, productivity and Net Promoter Score; monitors and reports on progress
  • Market, document and demonstrate capability feature and functionality to end users
  • Partners closely with Microsoft to understand and influence their roadmap for M365 to address key priorities for UHG for the capabilities / products they own within the platform. Drives ongoing awareness and adoption of the M365 capabilities and products
  • Advocates and helps drive organizational change management activities to promote adoption of capabilities

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience serving as Product Owner / Product Manager / Capability Manager
  • 2+ years of experience engaging customers and managing customer intake
  • 2+ years of experience applying the Agile methodology with a strong knowledge of Agile development practices (especially Scrum or Kanban) methodologies and tools
  • Direct hands on experience with writing features, grooming capability backlogs and coordinating / prioritizing requirements in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Outstanding technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Experience and comfort presenting to and communicating with various levels of leadership
  • Strong strategic focus
  • Experience with owning a product / capability strategy and roadmap
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of and subject matter expertise with Microsoft's M365 Platform / Office 365 Products (Teams, SharePoint Online, Enterprise Apps - Word, Visio, Project, Power Apps, One Drive)
  • Have held past roles in Product Ownership / Product Management related to End User Technologies
  • Have held past roles in Product Ownership / Product Management related to Microsoft's M365 Platform / Office 365 Products
  • Experience with applying usability practices and with UX design
