The Senior Proj ec t Manag e r supports Director of Project Management and Clinic O p e r a tions b y pro v idi n g prof e ssion a l assistan c e , proj e c t m a n a g e ment, r ec omm e nd a tions based on analytics and business input, a nd p e r f orms op e r a tion a l m a n a g e m e nt wo r k c ov e ring a br o a d ran g e o f a c tivities. This p o sition is r e sponsible f or p r oviding Subje c t M a tt e r E x p e rtise in a re a s including proje c t scope d e f inition, risk identific a tion, p r oje c t methodolo g y , r e so u r c e a l loc a tion, f a c ilit a tion, a nd other a r ea s of e x p e rtise b a s e d on e stablish e d proj e c t m a n a g e ment te c h niques. The position is a lso r e sponsible f or p r ovi d ing proje c t c oordin a tion a c ross multiple busi n e sses units, a n a l y t ic a l a ssessment of bus i n e ss problems, monitoring o r g a ni z a tion a l pe r fo r ma n ce , a nd i d e ntifi c a tion of risk to oper a tion a l pl a ns. D e v e lops v a rious a d hoc r e ports a n d st a tus upd a tes to support initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development of organizational objectives and short- and long-term goals
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analysis
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Utilizes proven methodologies in project and change management to support corporate leadership initiatives
  • Partners with departmental leadership and staff to identify/define performance planning/measures, tracking and reporting objectives
  • Leads and guides functional and segment teams through project implementation with competing agendas and priorities
  • Collaborate cross departmentally to manage risk forecasting/mitigation, project progress and issue resolution efforts
  • Liaison between internal and external teams to help steer work stream communications to ensure response integrity
  • Maintains project and process knowledge bank to support best practice identification and implementation
  • Develops performance, project status, meeting correspondence and ad hoc reports for consumption by various levels of management
  • Supervises Project Manager, Project Coordinators and others. Acts as a resource to others with less experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or a related field required (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • 3+ years of project management experience using data and information to make business decisions
  • 3+ years of decision support, data analysis, or healthcare operations experience
  • PMP Certification (or obtain within 12 months of date of hire)
  • Proven ability to successfully conceptualize an initiative, develop a plan and execute the plan through implementation
  • Experience interacting one-on-one and consult with all levels of executive management
  • Proven solid analytical/statistical skills used in evaluating and analyzing data
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint required. Experience with Microsoft Teams and project management scheduling tools
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in health administration, Finance, Public Health or Business Administration
  • Certification and/or training in a nationally recognized Change Management Methodology
  • Basic understanding of concepts and practices of Six Sigma
  • Experience in healthcare management
  • Experience with technologies: MS Teams, SalesForce, QuickBase, Smartsheet, and Project Management scheduling tools
