Job Summary

The Sales Executive, Small Group reports to the Northern California Territory manager and develops and implements sales strategies for targeted key accounts in a plan, a territory, or a specified geographic area. The Sales Executive is responsible for the end-to-end sales cycle for groups with up to 100 employees. Very knowledgeable of complete line of products and services and clients' issues and needs. Responsible for seeking out new clients.

  • Responsible for managing overall relationships with brokers/GA's in assigned geography for quota attainment.
  • Knowledgeable on complete line of product, services (Medical, Dental, Life & Vision) and customers' issues and needs.
  • Focuses on seeking out new customers by building key relationships with brokers/GA's.
  • Works with sources which may include brokers, GA's, and employers to attain sales. Develops, executes, and maintains strategic business plan to achieve goals.
  • Creates solutions to meet needs of producers and employers.
  • Educates and collaborates with producers and their team on BSC product offering, capabilities, and health care solutions.
  • Maintains health care industry knowledge.
  • Position requires 4-5 days per week out of the office visiting brokers in the territory.
  • Position may require evening and weekend entertaining of brokers
  • Work with other internal departments through sales cycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Experience
  • Typically, requires a college degree or equivalent experience and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • An active California Life & Health license is required.
  • Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • Understanding of Salesforce/CRM system preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and other computer-based skills
  • Must have valid CA Driver's License
  • Must have access to a vehicle.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
