Senior Financial Analyst - Factory Finance

Who You Are and What You'll Do

TheSenior Financial Analyst (SFA) in Industrial Factory Financeshould have exceptional leadership and be an innate problem-solver, with the ability to support the business in developing and executing on effective business strategies, including the planning and budgeting process.The SFA reports to the Industrial finance manager/site lead and has the responsibility to make sure that financial books are properly closed, results timely and effectively reported and that all factory financial controls are working in compliance with Unilever standards.

Month end financial closure, reporting and performance management
  • Perform non-recurring Journal Entries and give periodic instructions to third part service providers on recurring Journal Entries to be posted in SAP
  • Prepare and submit monthly snapshot result (incl. variance analysis) as per official calendar
  • Prepare monthly actual result variance analysis for internal discussion with plant leadership with an effort to drive improved performance on cost
  • Work with plant leadership on budget variances and provide insights and ideas into improving cost and reducing waste
  • Participate in cost improvement / restructuring / capital investment / sourcing projects. Challenge, calculate sensitivities and build business cases

Fixed Assets (FA) and spare parts management
  • Coordinate FA capitalization process with engineering department
  • Support asset tagging process in compliance with FA global guidelines
  • Coordinate FA and spare parts inventory process in compliance with Unilever's global controls guidelines

Financial controls and Risk Management
  • Lead monthly Balance Sheet and control reassurance reviews with the central controller
  • Ensure balance sheet hygiene by conducting a review of accruals and performing reconciliations as necessary
  • Coordinate annual stocks inventory process in compliance with Unilever's global controls guidelines

Play a key role in the financial community for North America (Unilever North America Finance team)
  • Site point of contact for any accounting/controlling matter for North America HQs (based in Englewood Cliffs)
  • Participate in communities of practice to share good practices and ways of working with regards to controllership and SC business partnering
  • Train the sourcing unit SC colleagues on accounting and controlling subjects (i.e. new procedures) and ensuring financial controls are understood and adhered to by plant leadership

What You'll NeedToSucceed
  • Bachelordegree in a related field required;Mastersdegree or CPA preferred
  • 3+ years ofrelevant finance experience
  • Prior work experience in Supply Chain Finance strongly preferred; Consumer Product Goods (CPG) preferred
  • ERP Experience required; SAP preferred
  • Microsoft Office required; Advanced Excel required
  • Business partnering experience with clear,focusedand sound financial assessment and guidance (strategic insights, risks, and opportunities)
  • Leading efficient and effective budgeting and forecasting activities (complex and time sensitive, cycle driven and continuous forward look approaches)
  • Providing incisive and persuasive management performance reporting and analysis solutions across multiple organizational dimensions
  • Developing strong personal and team relationships across a multitude of business stakeholders
